Review: HotShots Coffee & Tea @ Solaris Dutamas, KL

I was around Publika the other day and had a sudden urge of eating waffles! Yes, I have the appetite of a pregnant woman. I quickly googled "waffles in Publika" and the first result was Hot Shots so I just went for it. Finding HotShots Coffee & Tea was quite the challenge as it is away from the main eateries like Plan B, Namoo & Ben's. It is on the first floor of Solaris Dutamas facing the main road and it is easy to spot them from the outside!

HotShots is a coffee house where you can buy freshly roasted coffee beans, coffee machines for home/cafe/restaurant, grinders, roasters and at the same time enjoy their in-house menu of espresso, americano, latte, cappuccino, macchiato, tea & chocolate!

At Hotshots, you will be surrounded with the smell of coffee beans and a relaxing environment. There is a huge marble kitchen table situated in the middle of the shop with cakes, brownies & cookie jars on top. HotShots also displays all the different selections of tea on one side and it's coffee machines on the other side.

You also get to watch the owner work the coffee machines near you, I am amazed how they function these complicated-looking machines.

Brownies anyone?

Since I was craving for waffles, I ordered their best selling Belgian Waffles and a cup of ice chocolate to enjoy. I was so thirsty I finished the ice chocolate before I took pictures with it, the ice chocolate was too milky for my liking.

Belgian Waffles with Fresh Strawberries (RM14.90)
The waffles are served with premium syrup, whipped cream and mini hot chocolate syrup! I give 10 points to the presentation of the dish, but the waffle was really disappointing. The waffle wasn't light and crispy at all, however the strawberries are very fresh and juicy! Maybe I'm not a fan of Belgian waffles :(

Caramel Affogato (RM12) *recommended*
Salted caramel ice cream by Forty Licks, then drenched with the house’s double shots of espresso. The combination of these two is amazing, the bitterness of the espresso works so well with the sweet & saltiness of the ice cream. First time trying a Hot & Cold drink ♥ The price of the drink is affordable and it is really worth it!

I didn't order much since we were still full from our lunch, I will definitely come back to try the brownies and their signature 'Seriously Rich' Hot Chocolate! HotShots is definitely a good place to come relax and enjoy a cup of coffee with your friends. The environment is very comfortable and quiet for those who would want to read and enjoy coffee at the same time.

Will I revisit again? Although the waffles was a little disappointing, I would love to come back and try the other dishes for a second chance.
